Objectives

This course aims to develop the professional skill and knowledge of the student and enable them to advance their careers in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The specific objectives of this course are;

  • To develop professionals with leadership skills to administer and manage business units in the tourism and hospitality industry.
  • To enable the student to develop professional competencies in the tourism and hospitality industry.
  • To develop the ability to perform tasks relating to the tourism and hospitality industry. 
  • To analyze the trends of tourism, nationally and internationally.
  • To familiarize the student with the recent trends in the tourism and hospitality industry and its challenges and also make them able to suggest or recommend possible remedies.
  • To explain the interrelationship between the hospitality and tourism sectors.
  • To analyze the relationships between social, cultural, environmental, and global issues, and the industry.
  • To explore the strategic issues in tourism and hospitality business development.  
  • To familiarize the student with the operational aspects of a hotel.
  • To examine the impact of the present century on the industry and explore its future.
